Learn A Word A Day in AP Schools (22 Days) in AP – All Managements Day wise Schedule From 01-08-2023 to 22-08-2023: Learn a Word a Day Class Wise Words List 1st and 2nd Class, 3rd to 5th Class, 6th to 8th Class, 9th and 10 Class. It is well known that an innovative program called “Learn a Word a Day” is being implemented in schools with the aim of imparting the best vocabulary in English to the students of class 1 to 10. Learn A Word A Day in AP Schools  Specific guidelines are issued for students to improve vocabulary, pronunciation, spoken English, children to make better use of dictionary.

Learn A Word A Day in All Schools (22 Days) – All Managements Schedule From 1-08-2023

All the District Educational Officers in the state are aware that, a quality initiative “LEARN A WORD A DAY” to ensure the best vocabulary in English among the students from classes 1 to 10 has been implemented during the academic year 2023-2024. With the same spirit and outcome the program, it is proposed to continue for the ensuring academic year, as a part of this the implementation plan from DEC-2023 to 30-08-2024 in 4 levels annexed herewith.

Therefore, all the District Educational Officers in the state are requested to communicate the action plan along with suggested guidelines to all teachers and headmasters of all schools under all managements with an instruction to implement the program “LEARN A WORD A DAY” across the state from  2023  duly following the guidelines scrupulously.

Students should be divided into 4 levels according to their level (Class)

• Level 1 : 1 to 2 classes
• Level 2 : Grades 3 to 5
• Level 3 : Classes 6 to 8
• Level 4 : Classes 9 and 10

1. A new English word should be introduced in the first period of each day.
2. In the second period the children have to look up the meaning of the word in the dictionary.

Note : For level 1 students the second period teacher should explain the meaning of the word with different examples and how to use it in different contexts.

The English teacher should explain how to use the word in different contexts in his period.

In the 4th period, level specific activities should be conducted as follows

• Level1: Oral Drilling
• Level 2 : Spelling Game
• Level 3 : Students have to find parts of speech with the help of dictionary.
• Level 4 : Students have to find opposite words and synonyms with the help of dictionary.
• The same word should be repeated in all remaining periods.
• Every day one word should be written on the board in one corner. In the verandah, it should be displayed in the assembly.
• All the teachers should make the children practice the word and its meaning for 5 minutes in the period.
• But the usage of the word can be taught by an English teacher.
• Students have to keep a 100 page note book specially for this program. The teacher should check the book frequently.
• For every half (15 days), a “Spell Bee” should be conducted on the words taught so far.
• Encourage vocabulary practice at home.

Student has to find the word from Oxford dictionary, Encourage the students to learn right pronunciation, spelling, part of the speech, different meanings that the word has, usage sentences, other form of the word. Encourage them to use the word in their own sentences.
